How to Prevent Pneumonia
Pneumonia is a very serious illness to deal with. What’s worse is that there are many causes of pneumonia including bacteria, viruses, parasites, chemicals and inhaled pollutants. Here are some tips on how to avoid pneumonia.
Never forget to weak a face mask when working with harmful substances. Make sure you are protected when dealing with chemicals, asbestos and other materials that produces dust. Pneumonia can come your waty when you accidentally inhale them.
Take extra precaution when handling materials that have bird or bat droppings. They may not be easily seen but most of them can be hidden in ledges an sills. Fungi that can cause pneumonia thrive on these droppings so beware. Disinfect immediately if you feel you have touched them. Becareful with rat droppings too as they can cause a fatl form of flu.
If you live or work in an area with central airconditioning, ask the bulding administration if the can put in an antiseptic system for the aiconditioning ducts. These can keep the harmful inhalants at a minimum and can lower the chances of spreading other diseases.
Avoid smoking since smokers are at a higher risk for pneumonia and other lung disorders than nonsmokers. Stay away from second hand smoke as well. Also, don’t get yourself in crowded and smoke-filled environment.
