Memory problems also exist in children. They are processing too much information in school and at home that at times they are finding it difficult to remember everything. Here are some tips to help you kids improve on their memory.

Encourage them to recall the information they forgot. Accepting answers in the lines of “I forgot” or “I don’t know” could become a habitual response from your kids. Ask her follow-up questions if you feel the details are lacking. These follow-up questions will help stimulate their mind and can help them recall these details and reconstruct the memory piece by piece.

Get rid of the things that can contribute to mental block. Give them more mind-challenging games and limit the time they spend on TV and video games. Our mind needs to be exercised regularly just like our muscles to strengthen all mental capabilities including our memory.

Promote an active lifestyle. Let your children spend more time outdoors. Active lifestyle promotes mental progress and keep her from being lazy and lethargic. A lazy and lethargic body can spell a lazy and lethargic mind as well.

Give them a well-balanced diet. Healthy eating does wonders for everyone’s memory — young or old. Stock up on memory booster foods like carrots. Foods that are loaded in omega-3 and carotene can help stimulate memory as well.

Being single may be difficult and tiresome at times but it is also enjoyable and fulfilling. Don’t wait for the day when you regretted not doing everything you can before your single life ends. Try out our version of the single-life bucket list to get the most out of your single life.

Travel on your own. Once you get married and start a family, it will be difficult o schedule some alone time and travel to exotic places. There is also a chance of being guilt-ridden since you will be leaving your family behind and not share the excitement with them. Solo-traveling solidifies your independent nature and it is also a great way to reward yourself for managing your life on your own. It sounds scary at first but once you go through with it, your self-confidence will boost ten-fold.

Party lke there’s no tomorrow. Another great thing about being single is that you don’t have to ask for permission from anyone to take the night off and just paint the town red. Savor your singlehood and party with your friends, mingle and flirt with anyone you find attractive and get piss drunk. Of course, do not go overboard with the partying. Just relish the feeling of having less responsibilities before starting a family.

Save and invest on your own. Having your own money will make you realize the real value of it and how important it is to manage it wisely. This will also serve as self-protection and self-preservation should any untoward incident happens and you need the stable financial line. Growing your money on your own will also make you more proud and accomplished.

Here are some tips on how to increase a child’s attention span:

Be patient. The last thing your child needs is your impatience. By
being patient, you will be able to see the improvements objectively.
Your child can also sense your impatience and it might make them feel
something is wrong with them.

Remove toys and other things that would distract your child. This
could be television, computers, and video games. These should be
regulated, if not taken away altogether.

Reduce the child’s stress levels by injecting calming activities and
by making a schedule. Also, make sure your child maintains a good diet
and has physical activities or exercise.

Encourage activities such as puzzles, word games, logic and arts and
crafts. These activities require concentration and by providing them
these activities, you train them to stay on one task longer.

Here are some tips or factors to consider if you are trying to switch
to a paperless office:

Make sure that you have enough resources and space for back-up of
data. Remember that you might need to scan and keep digital copies of
files so you need to have enough space to store them in your hard
drive. You should also consider the type of document you will be
saving in digital format. They might be difficult to manipulate later
on post-scanning. Make sure that you research other options of going
digital. There are still some documents that you may need to keep so
make sure you still count them when you decide to do some archiving.

Make sure that you have enough support from the people in the office.
Employees should be informed accordingly. Train people as needed,
especially as there would surely be changes is how tasks are
performed.

Communicate externally as well. The people or institutions you often
do transactions with should also be informed of the change in your
office. If they can accomodate your requests of using digital copies
of documents, then all the better. But be understanding if they could
not.

College life can be very exciting, especially to fresh-out-of-high
school people who would need to live far from their homes in their
school’s dormitories. Here are some tips on deciding what to bring
into your new home during this new chapter of your life:

Visit your college dorm before you pack all your things. If this can’t
be done, you can check your school’s website or call for information
regarding the living space. Get measurements if you can, and what
furnishings and appliances would be available and allowable for you to
use. This will help you decide what stuff to bring.

Avoid bringing a lot of valuable items such as jewelry, etc. Although
you do not want to be suspicious, dormitories are not exactly as
secure as your private home. Also avoid tempting your room mates by
leaving all your valuables out in the open. Try to invest in a good
lock.

Avoid bringing appliances when you first move in. You can coordinate
first with your roommate or roommates and find out what you can
contribute to the room, in case all of you brought your own microwave.
This is of course, if your roommates would be in agreement to having
their respective appliances used communally.

Bring versatile storage space. Again, you won’t have the luxury of
owning each and every cranny of the whole room. If you can have secure
containers where you can organize your things and able to hide them
under your bed, the better.

Changing the little things you do at work can actually make a big
difference in making your time at work more productive with less
stress.

Get to work about 10 to 15 minutes early. This way, you have enough
time to get your mindset ready for the day ahead. You can get coffee,
chat with your coworkers, and finish your desk rituals before you
begin with your tasks.

Have a small notebook with you. This would ensure that you can write
down the tasks you need to do as they are told. Take a few minutes in
order to take a look at it and make a more comprehensive list. This
way you can prioritize work.

Take breaks. Taking your lunch at your desk is a bad habit. Get away
from your desk during designated breaks.

Keep work outside home and your personal life outside your
professional one. Keeping both well balanced is one of the keys in
keeping stress away.

Retiring doesn’t mean the end of the world. Think of it as a great opportunity for you to do things you’ve always wanted to do but were too busy working to do them.

Don’t sit around the house doing nothing. If possible, be more active than you’ve ever been before.

Set a daily schedule which involves exercise and puttering around the house. You can do projects and hobbies such as crafts and carpentry. You can try painting, or even cooking.

Learning knows no age. You can even go back to school. This is important so your skills and mind don’t deteriorate from inactivity. Enroll in short courses or even graduate studies if you want.

If you have enough budget, then you can also do some traveling. You can meet more people and see new places.

Start your own business or even work part-time.

You can also reconnect with your kids and grandkids.

If you’re a college student and rather short on cash, here are some things that can help you earn a bit of money:

If you do not lack physical strength, you may want to do hard labor. Construction jobs, demolition jobs, storage jobs, etc. might require you to work a couple of times a week but they also pay a bit more.

If you are a people-person, waitressing or working part-time in call centers can also help you earn more cash.

For those who like kids, you may want to try babysitting or tutoring classmates or even high school and middle school kids.

For writers, writing online or doing freelance work might be the best job for you.

If you need really quick and easy money, you can always look through your stuff and find which ones you can sell. You can hold a garage sale, or you can sell your items ober E-bay.

You’ve been promoted to a new or better position, but it entails
relocating yourself and your family to a new city, or state, or
country. What do you do? Here are some important things you need to
check before you start packing your bags and hie yourselves to your
new home:

Make sure that your spouse is ready for the move. This might entail
reisgning from their own job. If this is the case, make sure that you
or your spouse is able to negotiate for an assistance package because
of the unemployment. Remember that loss of income will make a big
impact on your family’s finances as well. If your spouse plans to find
work at the new location, make sure that all the paperwork,
clearances, etc. are done timely and properly.

Discuss between you and your spouse about who will be in charge of the
actual preparations for the move. This will involve creating a
checklist of what needs to be done and to make sure that everything
gets done.

Discuss with your kids about the move. Expect negative responses but
if you break the news gently and with respect and sensitivity to their
feelings, you would be able to resolve these feelings. Give them
enough time to process the news as well.

Arrange with your company if you be able to take one or two trips to
the new locaiton in advance so you’d be able to personally check the
city, the potential home, and schools even. This will help you
organize your move better.
